249. Psalm 9 Encounter: God as Your Refuge in the Midst of Injustice
In the previous episode, we talked about God as our refuge and our God of justice from Psalm 9. Today, we're moving from head knowledge to heart experience - we're going to encounter Him as our refuge. This is a guided meditation where you'll bring your burdens, your injustices, your heavy feelings to Jesus and experience Him as your high shelter and perfect hiding place. Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and let the Holy Spirit meet you right where you are. You are not forgotten. There is hope.
Psalm 9:9-10 (TPT): "All who are oppressed may come to Yahweh as a high shelter in the time of trouble. A perfect hiding place. For everyone who knows your wonderful name keeps putting their trust in you. They can count on you for help no matter what. Oh Lord, you will never, no, never neglect those who come to you."
HOW TO USE THIS EPISODE:
Find a Quiet Space:
- This is not an episode to listen to while driving or multitasking
- Set aside 10-15 minutes of uninterrupted time
- Get comfortable, close your eyes
Bring Something Specific:
- An injustice you're facing
- A burden from the news or social media
- A situation where you feel overlooked or forgotten
- Whatever feels heavy right now
Let the Holy Spirit Lead:
- There are moments of silence - don't skip them
- Notice what Jesus wants to say or show you
- Picture Him as your High shelter, your Hiding Place
- Hand over what you're carrying
Write It Down:
- After the encounter, journal what you sensed
- What did the Holy Spirit press upon your imagination?
- What did you see, hear, or feel?
- We remember what we take time to write down
