233. Wholistic Hearts and Life Update

Holistic Hearts listeners, it has been a hot minute since you have heard from me, y'.

All.

I am here to give you a little holistic hearts update, a life update.

And I know I've been MIA and there's a reason.

So you know that I love everything about the podcasting space.

I love that there is freedom to be able to create and move freely within this space and that there's flexibility.

So I am just gonna put this out there right on the forefront because I know this is a different episode than encountering the Book of Psalms series.

And I am still working on Psalm 7.

I do have the content.

I do what the Lord wants me to share.

I just have to actually press record and.

And I wanted to pause and give you a little bit of this life update and Holistic Hearts update.

I was waiting to get some clarity and I feel like I am now locked in.

So first things first is I'm going to talk about some big updates and maybe you have read the update that I sent last month inside of our Facebook group.

So I'm just going to do a brief overview of all the things that have been happening since this last episode was released.

And I think it was August.

So in August, we took our oldest and only daughter to college down at Grand Canyon University.

And that was a big adjustment.

It was a big transition and just so much to process through grieving, but also so much joy in getting to see her take flight and experience something new and adventure for herself.

So now that it's just me and the three teenage boys and my amazing husband, it's just a different dynamic inside this household.

And we all had quite the season of adjusting, went to a very talkative house, to a very quiet house and learning new dynamics.

And I'm sure as some of you know, with kids that are in college, that that shift that creates, yeah, there's a.

There's just a shift in the sibling dynamics when one leaves.

And yeah, it's just very interesting.

Another thing that happened in my world was in September I was able to sell my podcast business.

So many of you know that Holistic Hearts we was not my only podcast.

I also had a podcast called Podcast Coaching for Kingdom Entrepreneurs.

And that was my full time gig.

That was my company.

That was where the Lord really created.

It started basically 2016, but really came to fruition in 2020.

And man, the Lord blessed me so much in these last five years with creating this company and meeting people all over the world.

It was such a blessing.

In September, on September 15, I ended up selling my company to my amazing project manager who has been with me for years.

Her name is Becca Usalis and she has been amazing at taking over and really creating a similar environment for all of my previous clients.

So that's been a huge adjustment as well.

So lots of transition, lots of with my daughter leaving, selling the business.

Another thing that happened was because I no longer had a job, I was able to pick up some part time volunteer work for the high school JV soccer team for my freshman son.

I had never done anything like that and that was a commitment.

I had fun and I will not do it again.

But it was so much fun being able to coordinate and meet some other parents and get myself out there.

That was a joy to be able to do.

Another thing was we continued the holistic hearts home group.

So we did this last year I opened up my home once a week and we went through a book together.

And this year the Lord put it on my heart to do a holistic hearts home group where we went through the encounters that he has given me and blessed me with on the podcast.

And so we meet every Friday.

So shout out if you live in Colorado Springs or anywhere close that you want to drive down.

Every Friday we meet and we just practice listening to the Holy Spirit.

We practice encountering Him.

We worship, we pray over each other.

It's a really sweet space of women who are hungry for more and hungry to go after the heart of God.

And that's been such a gift, gift to have.

So I told you that I sold my business in September, on September 15th.

And on that exact same day, a dear friend of mine called me and offered me an opportunity to help lead a retreat in November for a ministry called Access Ministries.

If you don't know what Access Ministries is, I encourage you to go check it out.

Access.org it is a ministry that is all over the country.

They have a podcast that is amazing.

It's one of my favorite ones to listen to just just to hear their conversations.

And funny enough, it is called Conversations.

So go check out that podcast and it is for parents who are discipling their teens and they want to have a biblical world worldview.

So they talk about all sorts of topics.

If you want to know what 6, 7 means or any of the ling happening so quickly and so fast.

Access is your resource as a parent.

So go check that out.

So anyway, so this ministry was looking to host a retreat for their women prayer warriors, their their supporters for their ministry and just bless them.

And so I was given the incredible Opportunity to create the retreat flavor, so to speak, and lead these women through the weekend.

And it was absolutely stunning and beautiful.

So from September till November, the Lord had me listening and praying and leaning into what he had taught me about identity, about purpose, about encounters.

And that was the highlight, was really focusing in on, okay, Lord, how do I partner with you to create space for women to encounter you in this capacity in this brand new setting.

I'm so glad you're here.

I hope you come back to the regular, regular scheduled programming because it's going to be more fun than these little life updates.

But just giving a context for all of my listeners who may have followed me for a while.

And you're like, where did Kristen go?

This is where I went.

So I went with the Lord on some amazing deep conversations and prayers for these women.

And he showed up.

I know that, I know that.

I know that he is so faithful to show up when we create space for him, to personally see, know and touch the hearts of women who are hungry for him.

And so that was the beginning of November.

I got to go to Washington for the first time and it was drop dead gorgeous outside.

It was.

The leaves were in full bloom, like orange and yellows and just magnificent magnificence of the Columbia River.

Oh, it just was dreamy.

And to be able to talk about what encounters are and what the secret place is and to experience women experiencing encounters for the first time, y', all, that is one of my absolute favorite gifts.

Because the Lord comes for you.

He comes for you every time and it's just so wonderful.

So that was a huge gift to be able to lead those retreats.

Another thing that happened was I just picked up a part time job, so I am shifting gears to serve locally here in the aging population through a company here called Home Help Helpers.

It's actually national, but here it's a franchise here.

And I will be the basically liaison and referral relationship partner.

Director of relationship.

No, I'm going to get this right, Director of partner relationships.

And I'm really excited about meeting the people that are, you know, in re rehabilitation centers and hospitals that are helping the aging population with independent living.

So all that to say, yes, it is a little switching of gears, but what's so beautiful is it is part time and it will allow me to continue to put out this podcast and, you know, number one, be a mom and a wife and support in whatever way I can in this season.

So I'm excited about that and moving forward.

I know it's not quite the end of the year, but I also wanted to give you just a pulse on holistic hearts and where going with holistic hearts in the ministry and all of that.

So as far as the ministry of holistic hearts, my dream is in 2026 is to create more retreats like we just did with the Access Ministry.

So if you are connected with an organization or you have a group of women or you have a small group or any of that, any anywhere in the country, typically like living room set up.

That is my favorite, is to come into living rooms and to lead women in encounters with the Holy Spirit, with the Father, with Jesus, creating that space for people to lock into their secret place.

Whew.

That is my favorite.

So my dream is to be able to travel and to do that for whoever is wanting that.

And then also to create some weekend retreats here in Colorado with potentially some other special guests in mind as well.

So stay tuned on that as far as holistic hearts on the ground and retreats.

So I will keep you updated with that.

As far as the Holistic Hearts podcast, I'm going to continue to move through the Psalms as the Lord leads, but I'm also going to throw in some other original holistic hearts.

The the reason why I started Holistic Hearts was because there was so much that the Lord was teaching me, mind, body and spirit.

And so I'm going to throw that back into.

As you know, my background before becoming a podcast producer was I was a trainer.

And so health and wellness is really important to me.

So I will teach you what I have been learning lately and you won't want to miss out.

I might be talking about some peptides.

I might be talking about somatic healing, man.

There's just so many things that the Lord has been teaching me through each of those things that I wanted to share with you and get that out there for you.

So I'm also going to have some special guests on the show as well.
